Sunday...gone fishin'

What a day!  Haley Wilson has recorded the biggest ever fish caught by a Wilson.  Read on.

We drove out to Teslin, about 2 hours back east on the Alaska highway, to go to the cabin of Sarah and Len.  Haley works for Sarah.  Sarah takes the Anglican service on a monthly basis at St. Philips in Teslin.

We enjoyed the service, inclusive of prayers and readings in Tlingit language (a coastal, native tongue...16 different accents on the vowels!).  We were a small, but warm group at the church.

Afterwards, being the volunteer personality that I am (did you even read the bits about the internet stick?), I offered to scramble up on the roof of the church to attach the chimney top that hadn't been put on yet...
and no one with enough scramble-osity had come along to get up there.  So, I went up with Len's help and had it done in a few minutes.  Now, when it's minus 56 and the stove is running, they don't have to worry about rain coming down the chimney...just kidding.

We had a nice lunch and went out in the fishing boat.  Within an hour, we had five strikes of Lake Trout.
The one that got landed (barbless hooks) is shown here.  Not bad, eh?  Is that a big smile on Haley's face, or what?  Probably 5 lbs and 26 inches.  We're having it for dinner at Sarah's house, tomorrow with Moose and bannock.

We came back into WH for dinner at the Rib/Salmon restaurant...everyone in WH knows it.  It was deliciously worth the wait.

As I type this, the sun is still up...with maybe an hour of setting time to the horizon...and it's 10:05 p.m.

Good night, all.
